Helping Adults with Autism to Perform and Excel (HAAPE) Announces the HAAPE Grant for People with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to Participate in the Broward College Avionics Certification Program
HAAPE is pleased to announce the availability of up to 10 $1,500 Grants to qualified students with ASD to participate in the Broward College Avionics Certification Program.
The program specifically tailored to people with ASD provides a viable pathway toward employment in a career within the exciting aircraft electronics maintenance industry. The program is offered at the Broward College Aviation Institute in Pembroke Pines. Currently there is a shortage of certified graduates in this field and it is anticipated that high school graduates with ASD will be perfectly suited to apply their talents as they begin their career in private industry.
The $1,500 grant is provided as follows: $500 toward tuition in each of the first two semesters of the program and a $500 award to the student at the successful completion of the program. Students will need to meet the admission requirements of Broward College’s Aviation Institute, provide an Individual Education Plan (IEP) and have the motivation to succeed. There are no financial requirements or limitations for those sponsoring students.
We also note that the Faculty at Broward College fully understands the particular needs for those students accepted into this program and will provide the necessary support to help students meet their goal.
Fall classes commence on August 17th so that time is of the essence in enrolling. Further details are available from HAAPE Chairman, Dr. Larry Rothman at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1.732.586.7367
